If you’re seeking a vacation rental for scuba diving, snorkeling, or fishing, then your best bet is the Florida Keys.
The Florida Keys are a strip of islands that extend more than one hundred miles. They extend from Florida City all the way to Key West. Hundreds of smaller islands also line the Florida Keys. With the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf Stream immediately on the East coast of all of the Florida Keys, there is no end to ocean excursions. The third largest reef system in the world runs by the Florida Keys. The reef system starts from the Dry Tortugas, which is south of Key West, and stretches all the way to Miami. By reef system we are talking about patch reefs. These patch reefs range in size from small reefs all the way to giant coral formations. The reefs are consistently spread across the waters that extend out from the East coast of the islands all the way to the Gulf Stream. The reefs may be single reefs or in very large clusters of patches.
The unique environment of the Florida Keys makes it a good destination for those seeking all of the watersports adventures. Snorkeling is excellent because the patch reefs are at depths very easily reachable by snorkelers. Scuba diving is also a nice option, as the reef system often extends all the way out to the edge of the Gulf Stream, which means the reefs are also in depths far beyond the reach of snorkelers. Because of the significant habitat, fishing is good at all levels. Fishing on reefs, wrecks and even deep-sea fishing in the Gulf Stream are all very common. There is a wide variety of boat charters for all occasions throughout the Florida Keys.
