Help! My Page Looks Wacky !!!
Having problems formating the text on your pages? I realize how frustrating it can be. The program that does the editing in the web site just doesn't understand the formating that was controlling the looks of your text. In other words, you may have formatted your page within MS Word and then tried to paste it into the web page for your vacation rental. MS Word has a code that is controlling how that page looks in MS Word. The editor built into the web site doesn't understand that code.
The solution is to strip the formatting from your text, paste it into your web page, and edit it using the page editor on the site. Just highlight and copy your text and past it into Notepad. Notepad comes with Windows and can be found by clicking --> Start\Programs\Accessories\Notepad.
Step-by-Step instructions:
1. Highlight the text you want to fix and copy it. If your in the web page, it is best to use the buttons on the page editor in the web page. Hovering the mouse over the icons will tell you what they do. The copy button looks like two little papers next to each other.
2. Once you have the text copied, open Notepad and paste it into a new document. To open Notepad click ---> Start\Programs\Accessories\Notepad.
3. Within Notepad you may want to turn on "word wrap" to make the page more managable, although this may affect the page formating. To turn on "word wrap" in Notepage, click ---> Format\Word Wrap.
4. The idea is to strip the text of formatting. You should just clean up your lines and try to make your text look basically how you want it. You do the actual formatting in the web page. Once the text is cleaned up, just highlight it again and paste it back into the web page.
5. Now do your formatting using the page editor within the site. Remember to try to use the buttons on that page. Hover your mouse over the buttons to see what they do.
